Iquitos - Community San Martin de Tipisha
Our volunteers will live at the paradise in a wonderful community located at the deep jungle in " Pacaya Samiria National Reserve".
Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve is located in Peru's Amazon region, 100 miles west from Iquitos. The Reserve is a triangular shaped area between the Marañon and Ucayali rivers. These rivers intersect at the northeastern of the Reserve, marking the beginning of what is considered the Amazon River proper. The reserve’s waters are home to gray and pink dolphins, Amazonian manatees, giant river otters, black caimans and giant South American river turtles. Land species include jaguars, capuchin monkeys and spider monkeys.
More than 300 species of birds live in Pacaya-Samiria, including five of the eight species of macaw found in Peru. The prehistoric-looking hoatzin bird is seen here as well.
Wildlife and local villagers rely heavily on two species of palm for food. The fruit of the moriche palm is critical to the diets of parrots and mammals such as the tapir. Humans use the fruit in drinks and ice cream. Birds and mammals feed on the fruit of the chonta palm, while humans harvest the palm’s heart.
In this program you will teach 4 hours daily , 5 days a week to the children in the elementary school from grades 1-6. In doing so, the children learn a new language which is required at the secondary and post secondary level. This gives children a head start in acquiring English as a second language.
This program is available from April to December

What kind of volunteers are we looking for?
Our volunteers needs to have patient to teach English to the children in a fun way by incorporating song and art alongside traditional methods.
As a volunteer you will be:
Teaching and tutoring children in English .
Developing a creative environment for children through crafts, games and sports.
Assisting with creating low-cost teaching material.
Organizing health check-ups for students, creating hygiene awareness.
What we will provide you?
In this case you have to pay a minimum amount for all your accommodation and meals. This community is very poor, so they can’t provide you meals.
You will stay in family house accommodation, receiving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The cost of this program is U$15.00 a day. Also you have to pay the entrance to the Pacaya Samiria Nacional Reserve US$30.00
- Accommodation with a family at the community ( 1 breakfast , 1 lunch , 1 dinner), materials to teach.
- Trips around The National Reserve Pacaya Samiria every weekend with the Local Guides.
- Free Accommodation in Iquitos for 2days.

TEACHING ENGLISH IN CHUCUITO IN PUNO
Chucuito is a wonderful village located only 13 minutes away from Puno.The reason we are looking for volunteers in this village , is because we want to teach the community to work at the tourism businees, learning a new language to have a better comunication with the travellers and earn their money.
who are you going to teach?
To young people between 14-24 years old, teenagers , and local artisans,local workers from diferents hotels in chucuito also.
In this program you will teach 4 hours daily , 5 days a week .
This program is available all year round.
How long? We require 1 month minimum

TEACHING ENGLISH IN SIBAYO
-COLCA VALLEY - AREQUIPA
This is a new challenge of PIE, this is a very new proyect to teach english at the community of Sibayo.
Sibayo is located 2 hours away from Chivay, the main town of the Colca Valley.The people who lives in this area are alpaca farmers most of them also artisans who knitting sweters , gloves of Alpaca. This time we want to help the Asociation of Aussapi.A group of 40 artisanes. They area very entusiastic group who needs to learn english as a second language to offer their products in diferents tourist markets in Peru.
Also there is a small group of local guides who believe in work in tourism sector.They want to show their beauty town to the future visitors but they want to be ready , learning tecniques of guiding and speaking english.
What we offer?

What kind of people are we looking for?
