 SUMMARY

ITINERARY

Day 01- NAZCA LINES

You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the small airport where you will take your flight over the famous Nazca lines.
After a 30 minutes flight, you will watch a video about the discovery of these wonderful lines, which cover a 500 km square area.

The Nazca lines are an enigma. No one has proof of who built them or why. Since their discovery, they have inspired fantastic explanations which includes; a representation of ancient gods, a landing strip for returning aliens, a celestial calendar created by the ancient Nazca civilization " dating the creation of the lines at between 200 BC and 600 AD.

They may also have been used for rituals, probably related to astronomy, for religious pilgrimages or as a map of underground water supplies.

Other theories include the site of a pre-Columbian Olympic Games or even a form of ancient minimalistic art.

Etched in the surface of the desert pampas sand, are around 300 hundred figures made of straight lines and geometric shapes most clearly visible from the air.

After this thought provoking experience, you will visit the Chauchilla cemetery, where thousand-yea-old mummies lie in the open and ancient bones and pottery on the ground. After this you will be taken to a small pottery  factory, where the locals are still producing the famous Nazca ceramics.
